About the Role
AlQudra Aldaema for Engineering Consultations is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental standards across the company’s projects and operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and managing workplace risks, conducting safety inspections and audits, investigating incidents, supporting emergency preparedness, and ensuring compliance with applicable HSE regulations and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and management systems across project sites.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety inspections.
- Perform HSE audits and follow up on identified non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Monitor compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and project requirements.
- Develop and support emergency response procedures and preparedness activities.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness programs.
- Promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and other site personnel.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address HSE risks and issues.
- Monitor environmental practices, including waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental protection measures.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, inspection findings, and corrective action registers.
- Support the implementation of sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Follow up on HSE performance and ensure actions are completed within required timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in HSE within construction, engineering, or project environments.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification.
- Experience in incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action management.
- Knowledge of HSE management systems and emergency response procedures.
- Good understanding of environmental protection, waste management, and sustainability practices.
Preferred Skills
- Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Experience implementing HSE management systems on construction or engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures and construction site requirements.
- Experience developing and delivering HSE training and awareness programs.
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring and compliance requirements.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to analyze HSE data and identify areas for improvement.
