Project Coordinator

Location: Benghazi, Libya

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Coordinator to join our team and support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of electromechanical projects in Benghazi, Libya.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating project activities, ensuring effective communication between project teams and stakeholders, monitoring project progress, and supporting the Project Manager in achieving project objectives within the required time, quality, and cost parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and follow up on all project activities from planning through completion.
• Coordinate between engineering, procurement, site, technical, and administrative teams.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and overall progress.
• Follow up on project documentation, technical submissions, approvals, and correspondence.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients as required.
• Assist the Project Manager in preparing project plans, schedules, reports, and progress updates.
• Monitor project requirements and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
• Identify delays, risks, and coordination issues and escalate them to the Project Manager.
• Organize and participate in project coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Follow up on procurement, material delivery, and site requirements in coordination with relevant departments.
• Maintain accurate and organized project records and documentation.
• Ensure effective communication and information flow between all project stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of progress reports and project performance updates.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards, and company procedures.
• Perform other project coordination duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of proven experience in project coordination within the electromechanical, MEP, construction, or engineering sector.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical project execution and coordination.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and multiple project activities.
• Good knowledge of project documentation, scheduling, reporting, and project follow-up.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite — Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 — preferred
• AutoCAD — preferred
• Good understanding of project schedules, progress tracking, and reporting.
• Familiarity with project management and documentation systems.

Language Requirements

• Good to professional proficiency in English is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Arabic language skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional training or certifications in Project Management, Project Coordination, or Engineering Management.
• PMP or other recognized project management certifications are considered an advantage.
• Relevant courses in Project Planning, Scheduling, Risk Management, HSE, or QA/QC are preferred.
• Previous experience with large-scale electromechanical or MEP projects is a strong advantage.
• Previous international or GCC project experience is a plus.
