Job Title:
- IT Officer
Responsibilities:
Plant Infrastructure, OT Convergence & Power Resilience:
- Maintain plant-wide network backbones (LAN, WAN, industrial Wi-Fi, point-to-point wireless bridges, fiber optics, server rooms) across large physical footprints.
- Guarantee server room and network equipment continuity by managing heavy-duty power redundancy systems (high-capacity UPS units, Automatic Transfer Switches [ATS].
- Ensure maximum uptime for primary and secondary internet links by managing redundant connection pathways.
- Drive IT/OT convergence: integrate enterprise applications with factory-floor technology, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PLC networks, and edge sensors.
- Execute high-availability server management, automated off-site/cloud backups, and robust disaster recovery protocols to protect production continuity.
CCTV, Access Control & Physical Plant Security
- Oversee plant-wide IP CCTV surveillance architectures (NVR/VMS platforms, PTZ cameras, thermal perimeter cameras, local/NAS storage servers).
- Manage biometric and RFID Access Control Systems (ACS) across production bays, server rooms, administrative facilities, and factory gates.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, plant safety policies, and local regulatory requirements regarding video retention and facility monitoring.
Fire Alarm, Emergency Systems & ELV Integration
- Supervise the low-voltage technical infrastructure supporting Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), Public Address (PA) systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Partner with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department to ensure network alerts, automated emergency notifications, and life-safety hardware remain active 24/7.
Structured Cabling, Installations & Environmental Hardening
- When needed- inspect physical structured cabling, fiber optic backbones, patch panels, and industrial cable containment systems.
- Direct the physical mounting, internal power connection, and dust/heat sealing of network racks, outdoor industrial switches, shop-floor workstations, and wireless access points.
- Protect hardware against local environmental challenges (dust ingress, elevated temperatures, humidity, and electrical surges) using IP-rated enclosures and surge protection.
Help Desk Operations & Hardware Asset Management
- Establish and manage an efficient L1–L3 technical support desk utilizing a structured ticketing system.
- Enforce strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for rapid response times across administrative office staff.
- Manage hardware inventory (desktop PCs, laptops, rugged handheld barcode scanners, industrial label printers) and maintain essential spare parts stocks locally to eliminate long import wait times.
Cybersecurity & Local Compliance
- Enforce industrial cybersecurity controls (firewall configuration, air-gapping/DMZ network segmentation between office and factory OT networks, endpoint protection, and patch cycles).
- Ensure operational compliance with Libyan telecommunications laws, data handling practices, and local labor regulations.
- Protect the facility against ransomware, industrial espionage, unauthorized network access, and physical server room breaches.
Job qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 – 5 years of progressive IT/ELV experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science from a recognized university.
Language Skills:
- Arabic: Native or fluent
- English: Business intermediate
Duty days:
- Saturday to Thursday

- 9am – 5pm
