Commercial Engineer

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Commercial Engineer to join our Oil & Gas team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting the company’s commercial and financial activities, ensuring accurate pricing, effective cost management, and successful project execution in accordance with client and contractual requirements.

The role requires close collaboration with the Commercial, Finance, Procurement, and Project teams to support business growth, maintain commercial compliance, and deliver projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals.
  • Perform cost estimation, pricing analysis, and commercial evaluations.
  • Develop project cost breakdowns and support budget preparation.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost control activities.
  • Administer contracts, monitor contractual obligations, and manage commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing commercial offers and conducting bid evaluations.
  • Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare financial analyses, cost reports, and commercial performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and contractual terms.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Finance, and Procurement teams to optimize project profitability and performance.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity in all assigned responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a commercial engineering role, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or EPC industry.
  • Proven experience in tendering, bidding, cost estimation, and contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with EPC, maintenance, or oilfield service contracts is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor evaluation, and subcontract management.
  • Good understanding of commercial terms, contract conditions, and project cost control principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and teamwork.
