Project/Unit Summary:  

Funded by UNICEF and implemented by Albayan under the technical oversight of CESVI, the Programme strengthens access to quality psychosocial support for vulnerable children in Libya in 2026. It delivers structured group PSS activities through Baity Centers, community-based settings, and mobile outreach linked to Non-Formal Education and remedial classes. The Programme also conducts awareness and positive parenting sessions for Libyan and non-Libyan parents and caregivers, promoting children’s well-being, protection, and resilience in both static and hard-to-reach locations.  

Position Summary:  

The Case Worker is responsible for providing case management services to vulnerable children at risk, adhering to relevant standards and procedures. They contribute to the daily implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Child Protection case management activities. In addition, the Case Worker coordinates and supports social worker team implementing related child protection activities at Baity centers when needed.  The Case Worker manages the collection, analysis, and interpretation of Child Protection data, preparing comprehensive reports. Furthermore, the Case Worker actively contributes and coordinates to the drafting of regular reports on the progress of Protection activities and responds to any additional tasks assigned by the Project Officer. 

Specific tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Conduct case management services for vulnerable children at risk by following related standards of procedures. 
  • Contribute to the daily quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Protection case management and activities. 
  • Identify child survivors or individuals at risk of violence during case management activities while ensuring confidentiality and informed consent/assent procedures. 
  • Apply survivor-centred principles at all times, including safety, confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and the best interests of the child. 
  • Provide confidential support to vulnerable individuals within the scope of the role and facilitate safe referrals to specialized service providers in accordance with established referral pathways. 
  • Promote safe identification and referral practices and avoid actions that may place survivors at further risk. 
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case files, referral documentation, and case management databases in accordance with CESVI data protection procedures. 
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret Protection programme data and contribute to programme monitoring, quality assurance, and evidence-based decision-making. 
  • Proactively contribute to quality and timely drafting of regular reports on the progress of Protection activities; 
  • Fulfil any other additional task requested by the line manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Technical Skills: 

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in relevant field (social sciences, social work, or psychology)    
  • Minimum one year of experience as case manager, PSS Officer, Protection Officer or other related position 
  • Previous experience in INGO desirable   
  • Fluency in Arabic and strong written and spoken English skills.   
  • Excellent drafting, interpersonal, interviewing and communication skills.   
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups
