Role Overview
We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented E-Commerce Financial Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of Farmasi Libya. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking high-volume consumer transactions, managing inventory costs, reconciling localized payment gateways (including Cash on Delivery and digital wallets), and administering our distributor/influencer commission structures. You will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy while helping us optimize our profitability margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction & Payment Reconciliation:
Reconcile high volumes of daily e-commerce sales across various payment methods common to the Libyan market (Cash on Delivery (COD), local delivery service partner accounts, and digital banking applications). Track and reconcile outstanding COD balances with logistics partners.
- Commission & Affiliate Payout Management:
Accurately calculate, track, and process multi-tiered monthly payouts and bonuses for our network of Farmasi beauty influencers and independent distributors according to the platform’s incentive model.
- Inventory & COGS Accounting:
Monitor stock levels, manage local and imported landing costs, and maintain precise calculations for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). Factor in variables like shipping, customs, and fulfillment overheads.
- Digital Marketing Spend Tracking:
Monitor and audit customer acquisition costs (CAC) by reconciling cross-border digital marketing expenses (e.g., Meta, Google Ads) against platform performance.
- Financial Reporting & Margin Analysis:
Prepare monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Deliver specific insights into product-line margins, promotional discounts, and platform return/refund rates.
- Compliance & Tax Management:
Ensure all operational finances align with local commercial regulations, customs declarations for imported goods, and local corporate tax guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years directly inside an E-commerce, D2C, or retail distribution business.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software (e.g., ERP systems, Odoo).
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, and data manipulation are mandatory for handling large transactional sheets).
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of e-commerce business metrics (margins, COD cycles, returns, and fulfillment logistics). Experience with multi-level marketing (MLM) or direct-sales commission models is a major plus.
- Traits: Highly organized, comfortable working with large datasets, and capable of operating in a fast-paced digital startup environment.
